Penthouse Duplex Bungalow

Chicago, IL

At the time of its construction in 1927 this 28-story Kenwood co-op was declared the tallest apartment house in Chicago. The two penthouse units were billed as “duplex bungalows” complete with two outdoor terraces. In this complete renovation the clients stayed true to the spirit of the two-story bungalow in the sky showcasing their significant collection of Stickley furniture. Designed by Robert S. DeGolyer, architect for no less than 17 Chicago vintage high rises of the period, its modified Tudor Gothic details are most notable at the roof line and entry.
